Your medical records are privileged and access is not allowed without a release signed by you. This includes transferal of your records for which there is a fee.

Insurance companies come in regularly and audit our charts (your records). Each company is only allowed access to the charts of patients for which they have a signed release. Please be advised that within your contract with your insurance company, you have signed a medical release for them to review your records. This is simply to protect you - they come in and audit our charts to insure compliance with their policies (for example, that we have a "patient update" including your insurance info and address, etc. completed each year) and that we are providing quality medical care.
