Dr. James Barry has been practicing family medicine for 30 years in Ohio. He has lived in Springboro since 1980, with his wife and five(5) children. Dr. Barry has continually strived to add to the comprehensive services at the Family Health Center.

Dr. Barry has a desire to add new skills and services in part because of his diverse and international education. Born and raised in Manchester, Connecticut, Dr. Barry continued his higher education at Loyola University ( New Orleans) where he received his B.S. in Biology. He then spent several years in Mexico where he obtained his medical degree from the Universidad Autonima de Guadalajara. Dr. Barry completed his residency training in Family Practice both in Canada and Flint, Michigan.

Dr. Barry's medical interests are as varied as his life experiences. Besides his experience with family medicine, Dr. Barry maintained an active obstetrical practice up until 10 years ago. Because of his childrens' allergy problems, Dr. Barry has spent extensive time and experience with the diagnosis and treatment of allergies, including immunotherapy (allergy shots). Another major area of personal interest Dr. Barry has pursued is geriatric care. He has been a leader in developing quality senior care in the local areas as well as the state of Ohio. Because of this interest, Dr. Barry has added certification in medical direction and long term care.. Dr. Barry also has additional certification in geriatric and holistic medicine. Dr. Barry's view of family practice is similar to his view on aging: both are active processes enhanced by continual education and life experiences.
