Physician - Patient Relationship

Adults-If the patient is an adult, it is best if he or she comes into the treatment room alone. Perfect freedom in the doctor-patient relationship is best attained when the patient can speak in privacy with the physician. When other relatives or persons concerned with the health of the patient are available, discussion before examining the patient is afforded and discussion of diagnosis and treatment if consented to by the patient, is proper after the exam is completed.
Children-We love children and derive a great deal of pleasure from dealing with them. Parents can be a great aid in establishing a good doctor-patient relationship by preparing their children for the coming visit to the doctor. Children have a remarkable ability to adapt, especially if the visit to the doctor is treated in a matter-of-fact manner as a part of the routine of his or her young life.
Honesty is just as important in the relationship with a child as an adult. Such topics as pain, type of procedures and duration of both is best handled honestly. We try to cooperate with the child as much as possible. However, firmness at times is indicted.
It gives us great pleasure to serve you and your community. If at any time you are dissatisfied with us or our staff, please inform us. There are times when through oversight we may be misunderstood. Only frank discussions will clear up such misunderstandings.
